BOOKS TO READ

Although I have read thousands of books during my life I have decided to limit this list to the few that have impacted my thinking by adding to my integrated multi-dimensional jig-saw puzzle of Truth/Knowledge.

On a personal note, I want to add that I read each word in a book, and never skip-read, speed-read or scan; I also tend to read slowly so as to absorb deeper meanings. Mostly, I read with highlighter and pencil in hand, and pepper the pages with notes in the margins. For me books are "tools of trade" and are not for pristine preservation or pseudo-reverent handing. I would only add here that I read books to discover gems of truth and relevancy in them, gems which will fit seamlessly into my multidimensional jigsaw puzzle of Truth, rather than merely to criticize and negate specific statements and ideas put forward by the authors.

Some of the titles listed below may surprise you because their authors are evolutionists or materialists, and perhaps atheists or agnostics, but I do not see any "antagonism" between science and spirituality -- each has there place in the overall scheme of things. It is just that human science is so very limited-by-definition, bottom-up, and reductionist. Anyway I always like to know, in detail, what science is telling us, and I include all the highly qualified, top-rank innovative, contemporary scientists, like Arp, Thornhill, Lipton, Jahn, and Tiller, who fit the theories to the facts and not vice versa. Most sciences have become theory-driven, and the core theories are now reverently preserved and protected by encircling firewalls.

As a result, since 1970, I have been reading more and more channeled works -- though not exclusively by any means. This branching out has occurred for me personally, because I have found that almost every field of human-authored knowledge, including the sciences, religion, psychology and philosophy, has already become constrictively circumscribed and safeguarded by an authoritarian orthodoxy, especially in the area of "allowable" hypotheses; in other words every one of us, in order to be accepted and allowed to join the academic club, has to think, speculate and work within the authorized officially-approved consensual box, which is guarded and preserved by numerous "gatekeepers" whose main weapon is ridicule. Fortunately, for the advancement of human knowledge, these boxes (thanks largely to the World Wide Web and Internet) are now somewhat leaky and, as time passes, are beginning to burst at the seams as new scientific and psychospiritual discoveries and insights emerge. Also, fortunately, there are brave, truly innovative thinkers and researchers (even in some universities) who manage to find safe havens in which to carry on their work undeterred by any attempted ostracism or "excommunication" on the part of constrained academic orthodoxy. Below, you will find a selection of books written by some of these nonconforming explorers who do not even perceive boxes of orthodoxy!

You may comment that many of these books are "dated" but I assure you that Universal Knowledge is always current NOW, and, anyway, there may be many interested readers who are unfamiliar with some of the titles listed.

The Scientific Research Books listed in the first group (A) are essential reading for all scientists, physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, neurologists, psychotherapists and skeptics. No one should debate in favor of the materialist scientific and philosophical point of view without having read all of them. Preferably all materialists and materialist-leaning skeptics should also read all the books in the second group (B) below. And, yes, I have thoroughly read many books by materialist authors from a wide variety of scientific, psychological and philosophical disciplines, and all I ask is a fair reciprocation. If then, as a materialist and/or skeptic, you do not agree with the presented evidence, so be it.
